Washing and Care Tips for Your Tablecloth

How to keep your tablecloth looking beautiful

We hope you’ll enjoy your new tablecloth for a long time. The right care depends on the material, so always follow the care instructions for your tablecloth. Below you’ll find general tips on washing, treating stains, drying and storing it.

You received the care instructions by email. Can’t find the email? You can download the PDF on your tablecloth’s product page, under the “Care” tab.

Washing

  • Choose the washing temperature and cycle specified in the care instructions.

  • Use a detergent suitable for the material and colour. Do not use bleach unless the care instructions say it is safe to do so.

  • Wash the tablecloth with similar colours and, where possible, avoid washing it with clothes or towels that shed lint.

Treating stains

  • Gently blot the stain as soon as it appears. Never rub it, as this can push the stain deeper into the fabric.

  • The best treatment depends on the stain and the material. Don’t use hot or cold water or a cleaning product without checking first.

  • Always test a stain remover on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.

  • For a grease stain, you could try a small amount of dish soap. Test it on an inconspicuous area first and rinse it out thoroughly before washing the tablecloth.

Drying and ironing

  • Follow the care instructions for drying and ironing.

  • Only use a tumble dryer if the care instructions allow it.

  • If ironing is permitted, check the recommended temperature. For some fabrics, ironing the tablecloth while it is slightly damp can help.

  • Follow the care instructions when air-drying the tablecloth too.

  • Avoid direct sunlight when drying it outdoors, as this can cause the colours to fade.

Storing

  • Store the tablecloth in a dry, dark place.

  • Fold it loosely or roll it up to help prevent creases.

  • Do not store it with sharp or heavy objects.
